Dear Ones, As Jesus neared the end of His earthly ministry He gave His disciples the ultimate promotion. He told them they were no longer called servants, but friends. Imagine what joy it would have been just to be in the same room with Jesus or to just admire Him from a distance. But Jesus willingly brought them into His life as friends. It was the greatest promotion ever experienced by any man. Perhaps the only one who really could come close to this experience was Esther. She was a slave girl who descended from the captives, yet was promoted to Queen.
